HoneZone Technology Academy is an educational not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, organized and operated exclusively to promote and increase STEM Technology literacy of elementary, middle and high school students. Our organization has designed and developed innovative after school and project based technology enrichment programs for students aged 8-18 years in furtherance of our purposes. Our quarterly programs entitled Tech Basics, Tech Start, Tech Dives and Tech Strides are geared towards providing technology literacy for students aged 8-18 and give them a head start to be future leaders and entrepreneurs in STEM domain. Our program entitled Tech Innovate is designed to provide technology education as after-school program at elementary and middle schools. We also provide several other weekday and summer technology enrichment classes and workshops in furtherance of our purposes. HoneZone also sponsors free workshops, seminars and other educational events where community and technology leaders, governmental and organizational representatives, and other concerned members of public and government meet to exchange ideas, suggest solutions, and implement strategies to increase technology literacy for students. We also publish a web-blog and newsletter containing articles informative of latest technology trends to promote excellent scientific inquiry in the area of technology.

Our Mission: According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, in the next five years, STEM jobs are projected to grow twice as quickly as jobs in other fields. While all jobs are expected to grow by 10.4%, STEM jobs are expected to increase by 21.4%. Similarly, 80% of jobs in the next decade will require technical skills. We need to prepare our students to be able to compete in a knowledge-based global economy. Students need 21st Century skills of adaptability, complex communication, social skills, non-routine problem solving, self-management, self-development, and systems thinking. Our students will be called upon to be innovative and creative problem solvers, designers, developers, and inventors.
Per national center for education statistics: Of the 3.8 million 9th graders in the US, only 233,000 end up choosing a STEM degree in college (National Center for Education Statistics). That means only six STEM graduates out of every 100 9th graders. While all jobs are expected to grow by 10.4%, STEM jobs are expected to increase by 21.4%. Similarly, 80% of jobs in the next decade will require technology skills. Technology is pervasive in almost every aspect of daily life, and as the workplace changes, STEM knowledge and skills grow in importance for a variety of workers (including non-STEM careers).
Given these facts, to meet their visions of success as adults in the 21st century, our students are going to need some pretty sophisticated skills. And we are not referring to skills such as those needed to play games and send texts with their technology gadgets. Students require higher levels of technology education to succeed in the new, knowledge-based economy. We are living in a new economy powered by technology, fueled by information, and driven by knowledge. The influence of technology will go beyond new equipment and faster communications, as work and skills will be redefined and reorganized.
At HoneZone Technology Academy, our mission is to promote and increase technology literacy of every student and prepare them to become thinkers and innovators of 21st Century and help close this gap. Through fun, interactive projects, personal creations, and step-by-step instruction, our innovative and interactive after school and project based technology enrichment programs teaches students the building blocks behind some of today's most sophisticated technologies. Today's young people will need to be 21st century thinkers, able to recognize problems and opportunities, understand the complex and varied systems in which those problems and opportunities exist, weigh the pros and cons of potential solutions, and proceed wisely with enacting their decisions. Our programs are geared towards providing this technology literacy for students aged 8-18 and give them a head start to be future leaders and entrepreneurs in STEM domain.

At HoneZone, we know that students work their iPhone, iPad, iPod and Game consoles easily these days. What we have also learnt is that students using such technology engage in ideas big and small - such as problem solving, thinking mathematically and using logic and reasoning. Its the practical application of those ideas and the creative thinking required to solve real-world problems that forms the basis of a truly engaging learning experience.

Instructors at HoneZone have spent their careers in technology areas and are experts in this field and have the ultimate passion to their work and are great at working with kids. Your student will have first hand understanding of how technology can solve real world problems. We would like for the students to take home broad experience, new found energy and great desire in the field of technology - to go farther than they could've ever expected.
